   "Eagles. I have always been fascinated with Eagles since I was a youngster and my private school mascot was the eagle. Then as I grew older it seemed that eagles were a constant in my dreams. I learned many fascinating things about the eagle including the fact that the mother eagle builds her nest with sharp objects in it on purpose. She carefully covers the objects with soft material to cushion the nest.
   
   The eaglets are born and remain very comfortable in the nest with their needs being taken care of but as the time begins to near for them to leave the nest, the mother eagle begins to pull out the soft material, making the nest more and more uncomfortable for the eaglet. The eaglet ends up resting against sharp pieces and imagine this... the mother eagle still has to push the eaglet out of the nest to get him to fly.
   
   I shared that little story to relate it to my Soaring Experience. It has been one that has been marvelous as it has allowed me to look at things from a different perspective and has forced me to "fly" or "soar" in some areas that I might not have without the encouragement of the process and the encouragement of my soaring partner.
   
   We all have areas that are easy for us to soar in and then there are those areas that we would stay running around on the ground like rats in a maze if we didn't get the push or maybe I should say like little eaglets who are "very uncomfortable" but still need to be pushed.

2. “Youth” Mentoring. This program is designed to help “youths” learn how to achieve goals, build their confidence, and help with important communication and relationship skills. We have found our “youth” program works best when both parent and “youth(s)” are enrolled, although not paired together. Both parent and “youth” are expected to be consistent with their 7-11 minute-a-day SOARING call to create effective continuity and results. If a parent is not available, a committed family member, such as a grandparent, aunt or uncle, will work just as effectively. The important component is that the “YOUTH” feels supported because of your involvement, even if they say they don’t like it.
